JUPITER INLET COLONY FAQ

The questions we hear most, answered plainly.

Where is Jupiter Inlet Colony?

Jupiter Inlet Colony is its own small town at the southern tip of Jupiter Island, on the north bank of the Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County (ZIP 33469). The Atlantic sits on one side, the inlet and the Intracoastal on the others, and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is just across the water.

How big is Jupiter Inlet Colony?

Very small. The town covers about a fifth of a square mile, with roughly 230 homes and about 400 residents at the 2020 census. It was incorporated in 1959 and is reached by Beach Road.

Does Jupiter Inlet Colony have its own police department?

Yes. The town has its own police department and town government, and there are no condominiums or commercial properties inside it. That combination is a big part of its quiet, residential feel.

Is Jupiter Inlet Colony good for boating?

It is one of the closest places to live to the Jupiter Inlet. Many Intracoastal and inlet-side homes have private docks a short run from open water. Currents, water depth and dock rules vary by property, so we confirm them for each home.

What types of homes are in Jupiter Inlet Colony?

Single-family homes only: oceanfront, Intracoastal and inlet-front, and interior homes on quiet streets. Many original homes have been rebuilt, and each of those tiers trades at a very different price point.

Which schools serve Jupiter Inlet Colony?

Public school assignments are set by the School District of Palm Beach County and can change, so check the district's school locator for any specific address. We can also share private school options in Tequesta and Jupiter.
